Cannes night #2;
I'm a little behind on my blogging - I traveled light this trip, Blackberry only no laptop.
So I was in town partially to consult for a friend of mine in the private equity business, but mostly to support Jed Weintrob, director of On_line which I produced for his new film, Scar (3d) which premiered Sat. It was pretty fun to see, though it's WAY to violent. More posts later about 3d, (stereoscopic for the geeks in the house)
However, since I was in town, my friend Josh Greer, founder of RealD (the 3d projection company) got me a ticket to the premiere and party for U2 3D.
It ROCKED.
U2 played on the steps of the Cannes Palais red carpet, then we all went in, put on our glasses and watched a 55 minute prequel of their 3d stereoscopic concert movie. It was really great. made me really think big deep thoughts, but perhaps that's because it was 4 in the a.m. when I got out.

I'm off to Cannes this a.m. for a few days. Jed Weintrob (director of On_line) has kindly let me crash with him. I'll go to a bunch of parties, network and schmooze and look wistfully at the Mediterranean but it's unlikely I'll even get my toes wet. Isn't show business glamorous?
I will say, I always try and sneak into one or two films when no one is looking and never fail to see something amazing.. Last year it was Red Road; which if you haven't seen is really worth a watch.
